Currently sitting here typing out my essay, god this is taking long.
Right now is the opening act, and they've been adjusting some technical stuff for about an hour.
It's fine actually, my bit doesn't start until scene 7. But it is gonna be a long while looking at it...

Just did my mic check, made up some stuff on the spot and had to deal with the bloody static. We were doing it in order, and I was second to last. Most of them counted or sang the alphabet, some said their lines and some spoke gibberish!
Really, all good and well, just have to be careful with those mics. 500 quid per machine!

Gonna be logging my what I'm doing during my very long tech rehearsal hour by hour. Currently in the changing room typing on me phone.
So far we just did a warmup singing Bohemian Rhapsody, so that was fun. We also got lectutred on using our mics throughout, so that's nice as well.
So far, feeling fresh and awake, and am currently in a very old building! Thought I might share a photo of a corridor

Either I must've chosen the wrong college, because the start of the semester begins on a freaking Friday and I'm not funky about it.
Eh I'm joshing! I really need this, I want to finish the essay by today anyway. If that happens, I won't lose my mind over it during tech rehearsals this weekend.
When that's done, it's time to move onto my
It's simple really, we just have to come up with a game project, mull about it for 5 months and show it to some professionals.
So far I came up with a Punch-Out style game where you play as a buffed out wizard and beat the shit out of everyone who bullied you.

I'm planning to have a bit of magic in there to spicen things up. But I'm planning on have stuff like goblins, kobolds, straw-sucking succubusses and a tabaxi with a guitar/fiddle/electronic keyboard.
I'll have to learn a bit of animation and aseprite because of that.
Me and my brother have taken a break on the VA session. I had a terrible day yesterday, some sort of anxiety pummeled me to the ground - don't worry I managed to get back on my feet. We felt we weren't going anywhere so far, added to the fact that the script was...
well it was crap.
We plan on getting back to it during spring break or another time, but I think at best it'll have to be canned or, even better, be done in another draft. It's not his fault, nor the writer's, it was our first time directing and voice acting.
..and because of that I'm afriad I might have to skip some cool collabs on there. Newgrounds is fun and all, but I need to get into some serious business. It's practically my exam period, and I need to focus on it to get a good grade.
Even if I hadn't chosen Games Design for uni, it's still important that I need to build a portfolio of some sorts if I want to get employed.
I might get into some events, but right now my hands are full at the moment, so I need to get that sorted out first.
I'll still post by the way, so I'm not going anywhere!

Hate to brag or anything... but I just landed a recording session last night!

My brother is working on a really cool radio/podcast project, soon to be on Spotify someday. It's an anthology horror/thriller found audio series about a museum that doesn't exist. Literally "The Museum", a place with no sense of shape or form but holds exhibitions showcasing artists' work, ran by someone known as "The Curator". The recordings are usually done by the artist, or their family members/spouse/close-friends/etc., as they comment about their pieces of work. Most of the time The Curator has her bits too, mostly guiding the listener throughout the exhibition or interviewing the artist themselves.
However, The Museum isn't a normal place, it's more of a hell of... some sorts. The artpieces aren't given too much detail, but from certain hints of tonal voice changes or something that happened related to the work, something happened to the main character of the episode that they cannot express...
This series was inspired by Silent Hill, No Exit and Welcome to Nightvale, but my brother wanted to take a different approach to found audio dramas. He wants to have a down-to-earth nature for the series, even fully fleshing out The Curator with actual personality and emotions as opposed to ooooOOOOooooooo who is this seggsy tumblr maaaAAaaaaannn with a grisled vooooiiIIIIIIIiiceeee???!!?!?!!?

I need to be serious about this. I have three days of holiday left and I need to get work done. I have one essay, five pieces of art to do and one life to take care of. By Friday, it'll be the start of the last term of college (K-12 education), which means it'll be exam time for me. What I want to do is to get the essay up to a good standard so that I don't have to waste precious hours while everyone else is working on a game. Added to the fact that my pantomime is in the middle of January, which means I need to crunch some hours into the days.
I can do this.

The start of the year I saw Hayao Miyazaki's newest masterpiece, The Boy and The Heron.

Honestly, it was worth it skipping all the trailers, this movie is astounding!
Just seeing all the painted details in the backgrounds makes it so much authentic. There's a lot of animation projects trying to make things as "realistic" as possible, especially with Weathering with You recently. It's the little things that matter, it's why I absolutely adore impressionism as an art form.
The story was slow; that's the best thing about it. A lot of movies try to be as fast as possible, and so much of that would end up being pretty forgetful. This movie is a perfect balance, added with Miyazaki's direction of leaving long pauses between each moment (known as "ma" in case you didn't know!)
I was watching the dubbed version of this, and safe to say they did a great job!
Look, it doesn't matter which version is better, but switching between reading the clunky words and being engrossed in the scenary is like trying to look at a painting while looking at a wiki article about it at the same time. It's distracting! I'd rather be in the environment if I say so myself.
Also, Robert Pattinson was fucking amazing. I got him confused with Willem DeFoe, kinda strange how they're both in the same film about birds...

Also, how the hell did Christian Bale manage to sound younger? I can't wait to do that when I enroll in acting!
Welp, just finished my delicious yaki soba as I'm writing this. I'm gonna do some essay work when I get back and also finish that lucario piece. The colouring's all that needs to be done!

grey skies and mulled afternoons...
Living in England is so much fun.
Well 'tis a saturday anyway, so I'll be more relaxed now. Don't really wanna overwhelm myself with a lot of work on the weekends, especially when 2024 rolls around. It'll be another hour for me doing my essay, but I'll spend most of my time on drawing instead. Last evening I got a bit cut-off after my friend called for a DnD prep meeting for my cleric guy, don't wanna blame her for that: I was happy that happened actually.
My morning was watching a nice film called Weathering with You with my brother, made by the same guy who did Your Name. Nothing much, execpt for the brillliant visuals and animation as always, it was just a sweet little rom-com between a boy and a girl....
...and a religious weather apocalypse thingy. Check it out if you can, you can find it for free on All 4 - if you don't mind a TV amount of ads.
Anyway... uhhhh... speaking of New Year's. I'm thinking about doing a Lunar New Year's post. Seems everyone is rushing out to draw a dragon, I don't blame 'em! Dragons are cool as hell.
Maybe I'll do a lil' dragon now...
