Just recently saw my school doing a musical producation, and maaa-a-a-an do they not miss!

They literally put on a broadway show, with lots of sets, effects, orchestra and all! The changes they made to the show was a bit iffy at first (setting it in modern day), but really it just goes to show that nothing changes...

But the cast was bloody amazing, everyone was! Not gonna go into detail since I don't wanna ruin my relationship with some of them... but they rock!

So, writing a daily blog in the morning isn't gonna work out for me, especially on days where I'm busy. Ususally, I don't really find the time to do it anyway, by the time I get around writing it it's usually last minute at 1am. Therefore this daily blog will now release at 6pm! It's hard to write something when you haven't done anything and I think it's neat to talk about my day!

My day?

It was fine. I got some stuff done, learnt what we're supposed to do for the reserach and experimenting PowerPoint till it's dead! I made a major breakthrough by making scene transitions working, text boxes and all!

It's still a bit finecky right now, since there's no programming console as far as I know.

Gym was closed for exam earlier today, which meant I couldn't really concentrate by the end - I did do some work though!

I might post a survey for you guys, just a bit of audience research to get that sweet sweet D*..

But my god do I feel like a God. Last year I was struggling a bit to finish my last project, namely that I didn't have a plan. I first fixed that at the start, if I want to get that D*, I'll have to be tight on my schedule for this one.

And I did, I worked my way back on what I needed to do for each section, made a timetable (yes really) for each day of the week - asides from Wednesdays and Sundays of course, and deleting YouTube off my phone.

The result? On top of my shit.

Well.. kinda. But it's much better than last year and I know what I'm doing for once! It's like... everything is falling into place... for once!

I highly reccomed you do this by the way. Just make a goal in mind, look back on the steps you need to take, and then make a goddamn timetable all the way towards your deadline. Here's an example of mine:

Hiya everyone! Haven't been posting in a while, been terribly busy lately...

So far I'm trying out RenPy for my game, actually cool! It's got a really easy coding language similar to python, though I deffo need to take a while with this. I would say the tutorial is a bit... strange. Having some waifu talk about everything feels a bit offputting for me.

Don't really know if the engine can do some point-and-click schmickery, but that's where the experimenting begins!

I'll continue to use PowerPoint for this, though I deffo need to be on top of my game here

So I went to sleep at around 3am from feeling bad about an argument.

It was nothing much, just something about the Silent Hill 2 Remake coming out. As a result I woke up depressed at 11am.

Anyway, I had an easy stroll in the morning, and felt much more better because of it. Absolutely lovely day for once, the sun was shining like a golden retriever! So that was good. Did some work for my project, though I really was snorting YouTube most of the time.

Aaaaand that was my day! I did also come up with a timetable for each week, that'll mean I'll be on top of stuff no matter what!

Today I just came up with a brilliant plan for the first chapter (or episode) of my visual novel, Bones in the Ocean. And I ain't gonna share it, pbpbpbpbpbpbpbppb!!!!

Top secret here, I'll only share it when I'm done with the first chapter. But right now I'm just messing around with PowerPoint to make working text boxes. I'm also gonna test out Renpy while I'm at it, heard it's good!

Quick one here, just got back from a 6 hour rehearsal.

Don't worry the lovely cakes and brownies kept me going. I'm just gonna post some quick sketches I did over the past few days.

Saw a couple at Café Nero, thought it would be nice to do that. Unfortunately I had to catch a train, but I did a good job.

From today's rehearsal. Three of the ensemble posing as statues for the Let Yourself Go number. Had a good opportunity doing a study on posing.

Welp that was today's news. Tomorrow is just gonna be some more work!

Macbeth Review

The bloody aftermath

Recently I saw a production of Macbeth, featuring David Tennant as the titular role, at the Donmar Warehouse.

It was a bloody feast I tell you. Sitting in that tight thrust stage was marvellous. Everything about it was marvellous too!

I was entrances from the beginning, the opening monologue of the wyrd sisters with Macbeth on his knees washing his red-soaked hands sent me chilling to the bones, added with the sound design adding impact.

By the way, this play used headphones for this. They were shitty at first, one ear wasn't working so I had to get a wireless radio one. But OHHHHHH MYYY GOOOODDDD was that experience so gooooood.

You could literally hear the character's soliloquy, each whisper added so much impact to their respective roles and it was liquid (albeit crusty) gold!!!

But let's talk about the casting it was just fucking fantastic. Cush Jumbo was as amazing, if not better, as Tennant with her stabbing gazes and overall acting. And gotta say Ros Watt is a major trans w, them playing as Malcolm (who becomes king in the end of course) among others was really outstanding. I am already seeing them as a brilliant NB role model, they are fantastic.

Welp, that's my review of it. I wrote one beforehand but that got reloaded by duckduckgo. It's also a bit late, clocking in at 23.40 right now.
