Mornin all!

Yup, morning. 00.30 as on right now.

Should really be in the next day, but i don't wanna ruin my streak so:

(I might have to cheat a bit!)

Today I just came up with a brilliant plan for the first chapter (or episode) of my visual novel, Bones in the Ocean. And I ain't gonna share it, pbpbpbpbpbpbpbppb!!!!

Top secret here, I'll only share it when I'm done with the first chapter. But right now I'm just messing around with PowerPoint to make working text boxes. I'm also gonna test out Renpy while I'm at it, heard it's good!

Anyway, that's from the cat in the trash... See you tomorrow!

I was just dancing and I accidentally pulled a muscle.

Here was a recreation of it.

Quick one here, just got back from a 6 hour rehearsal.

Don't worry the lovely cakes and brownies kept me going. I'm just gonna post some quick sketches I did over the past few days.

Saw a couple at Café Nero, thought it would be nice to do that. Unfortunately I had to catch a train, but I did a good job.

From today's rehearsal. Three of the ensemble posing as statues for the Let Yourself Go number. Had a good opportunity doing a study on posing.

Welp that was today's news. Tomorrow is just gonna be some more work!

Macbeth Review

iu_1153678_17284254.webp

The bloody aftermath

Recently I saw a production of Macbeth, featuring David Tennant as the titular role, at the Donmar Warehouse.

It was a bloody feast I tell you. Sitting in that tight thrust stage was marvellous. Everything about it was marvellous too!

I was entrances from the beginning, the opening monologue of the wyrd sisters with Macbeth on his knees washing his red-soaked hands sent me chilling to the bones, added with the sound design adding impact.

By the way, this play used headphones for this. They were shitty at first, one ear wasn't working so I had to get a wireless radio one. But OHHHHHH MYYY GOOOODDDD was that experience so gooooood.

You could literally hear the character's soliloquy, each whisper added so much impact to their respective roles and it was liquid (albeit crusty) gold!!!

But let's talk about the casting it was just fucking fantastic. Cush Jumbo was as amazing, if not better, as Tennant with her stabbing gazes and overall acting. And gotta say Ros Watt is a major trans w, them playing as Malcolm (who becomes king in the end of course) among others was really outstanding. I am already seeing them as a brilliant NB role model, they are fantastic.

Welp, that's my review of it. I wrote one beforehand but that got reloaded by duckduckgo. It's also a bit late, clocking in at 23.40 right now.

So...good night. Sleep tight!

or lest Macbeth slaughter thou in the night...

On the train right now, in a few hours I am going to see the newest rendition of Macbeth! It's gonna be so exciting, I cannot wait!

Dunno the guy playing him, I think he's some tennant. And I'm pretty sure he was a doctor beforehand...

Welp I'm gonna expect a lot of great stuff from this Dave guy. Heard he's really good in a lot of things. But I dunno, gotta have fresh actors nowadays!

I'm gonna be posting some sketches of people while I'm there, so stay tuned!

Oh, the pitch yesterday went amazing. The group loved every single bit of what I did for every slide and absolutely laughed should I was explaining my team roles.

The joke is that as I'm working independently, I made it look as if I have a full team of three. So I used some selfies of myself, put each of them like "Game Director" and "Lead Artist", along with my name, and added some funky animations.

Some could say I am a genius...

I could do a recreation of it, but I don't know if I have the time for it. Because of this, I got the greenlight and I'm ready to go!

Sorry about yesterday, I had to come up with something for the blog. Looks like sticking to mornings is better for me.

Right now, I am currently fixing my pitch for the project. I basically present it to the group, get some feedback and then crack on with the practical work!

It's no biggie for me, I'm very used to presenting so I don't usually flup up. After all, I do have experience elsewhere (wink wink).

All I need to do is to add some animations, transitions and the whatnot. Gotta say I'm quite the master in that area!

Actually, I'll put some tips on here. They might not be helpful, but I thought it'll be fun to otherwise!

The key thing of presenting isnt just to let the audience read. Youll look like a plank of wood otherwise.

No, the best thing to do is to let the audience watch, that means relying on visual imagery is key for a good presentation.

But also confidence! Talkingveryquicklylikethisandsayingalotofstuffwouldboretheaudienceaswellasmissingalotofkeyinformation isn't the way to go. Taking your time is helpful, your voice is much quicker than you expect it.

And also: remember to breath and smile.

Very late post here, sorry.

This college project in games design will be the final thing, and I am proud to announce that my 2 year old idea will come into fruition! This has been a wild couple of years, getting thrrrrust into a new territory and blindly following where I need to go, like learning to drive with glitter glue covering your eyes!

Ahem, back to topic.

What I want to do is to share my progress in Newgrounds and on Itch.io, though I will announce it when I finish setting it up.

Currently in Alpha

But without further ado, I am proud to announce my Final Major Project: Bones in the Ocean.

Please pardon my grammar on this, I was tired on the bus while drawing. But here's what I came up with:

iu_1152193_17284254.webp

Long story short: Bones in the Ocean follows Lucy on her spiritual journey across the Open Ocean, a strange world with creatures and beasties alike. With the aid of Captain Albert, a scottish terrier, she must find out who she is, what is this place, and how she got here. But she is being hunted by predators and Trawlermen alike, and a dreadful revelation soon comes to Lucy...

Welp, just came up with that on the spot. This may come into a few changes. God writing at 11pm is racking my brain.

But more importantly, I will be making a thread for this to showcase my journey!
