Nono. Not this one.
Thiiiiiiis one.
Last year, I stumbled across one fine day on the audio portal across this beautiful track by @MYYA, a dance piece accompanied with a gorgeous clarinet about her life of transitioning. Safe to say, it captured my heart. I was surprised that after a few days it hadn't been Frontpaged yet. When the previous Treasure Hunt rolled around, I chose this for the competition. Unfortunately, it didn't qualify because it was released after the time frame (i.e. not released in 2023).
When the next year rolled around, I finally got the chance to submit it to the current Treasure Hunt. Along with several other pieces of work:
I also want to mention that I managed to submit it hours before it closed! So I had a bit of a panic trying to make my choices XD!
Fast forward to now, I was ecstatic to see the list of winners announced on the @TheTankTribune - showing the brilliant music piece. I'd like to thank MYYA for sharing her journey, @The-Great-One for putting this together, the judges @Aalasteir and @Cyberdevil, and of course @TomFulp... for being awesome!
And I'd like to give thanks for the prize money. $74 is a lot (which is a lot even for me) so I think it'll be fair to share 40% of it towards Dr. Victoria McCloud's case against the abhorrent result of the UK Supreme Court's ruling this April.
For context, For Women Scotland, a group of trans exclusionary feminists who want nothing but to erase transgender people, made a case against the Scottish parliament over the means of "biological sex". McCloud made an appeal to intervene the case, but was refused.
As a result, For Women Scotland won the case.
This meant that trans people in the UK, as well as those non-conforming, are going to find it difficult to live. With the danger of the EHRC banning them from single-sex spaces, it'll not only make it harder for trans people but also those who aren't perceived as either "male or female" - butch women, effeminate men, etc.
Right now there is a fundraiser for McCloud's case to the European Court of Human Rights, which would at least make it easier for trans people to exist (and show the TERFs how stupid they are). Currently £21,400 has been raised, which is still short of the goal for £150,000. Therefore I am giving most of my prize money to this cause, and also recommend you beautiful people to throw in a couple as well!
Happy days everyone!
Trans Rights are Human Rights :3
